Background Check for Initial License Application

Background check instructions will be sent to applicant upon successful completion of initial application. To complete an application, please visit https://nmrldlpi.my.site.com/bcd/s/login/

Pursuant to the New Mexico Funeral Services Act [§ 61-32-6, NMSA 1978], the following applicants for initial licensure must submit to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) state criminal history background check:

  • Funeral Service Interns
  • Funeral Arrangers
  • Funeral Embalmers
  • Funeral Service Practitioners
  • Direct Disposers
