BioTrack Resources

The Cannabis Control Division (CCD) only requires BioTrack for the traceability system. We do not require BioTrack for your point-of-sale system. The CCD does not regulate third party vendors for point of sale. That is a contract between your business and the vendor.  If you have questions about this guidance, please contact the CCD at RLD.CannabisControl@rld.nm.gov.

BioTrack FAQs

WHAT IF I NEED TO BRING IN NEW GENETICS BUT MY WINDOW IS CLOSED?

Email the CCD and ask to have it reopened. CCD.COMPLIANCE@RLD.NM.GOV

WHAT CAN I USE AS THE SOURCE FOR PLANTS?

Seeds, Clones, or Plant Tissue.

WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH WASTE?

It can only be destroyed. Waste is what falls on the floor during trimming. If you are using any non-flower material to process and convert into a THC product, that should be classified as Other Material.

WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH OTHER MATERIAL?

It can be converted to an intermediate like an extract or kief. The allowable conversions are linked here.

HOW DO I DEAL WITH FLASH FREEZING?

Convert the flower from your harvest into a flower lot.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A SEED DOESN’T SPROUT, OR A PLANT DIES?

You can destroy them under Cultivation.

HOW DO I MAKE MOONROCKS? Or any other combination of extract and flower?

Convert your intermediates into the end-product type Infused Cannabis Mix.

HOW DO I CONVERT BULK FLOWER INTO PRE-ROLLS?

Convert a flower lot into usable cannabis or convert multiple flower lots into cannabis mix packaged.

I HAVE A LARGE AMOUNT OF INVENTORY THAT I NEED TO GET TESTED, WHAT ARE THE CORRECT STEPS?

Create a QA sample from the lot before. Do not create a sublot of a small amount to use as a QA sample. A QA Sample is the only inventory you can send to a lab for testing. After you do this, you can then sublot and the test results will carry forward to each sublot.
