Please be aware of a license renewal fee scam email
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Division (ABC) was recently made aware of a renewal fee scam that uses the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department and ABC personnel’s names to solicit payment for a fake license renewal application.
The email may appear to come from the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, but upon further inspection the email address it is sent from is “planning-dept.cityofespanolanm@usa.com.” The email might also include an attached “invoice.”
Please know that this is not an official email from the ABC. Emails of this nature should be addressed with caution:
- Avoid clicking any links
- Do not open any attachments
- Delete the email
