ATTENTION BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS DIVISION LICENSEES:

We are aware of fraudulent phone calls affecting Boards and Commissions Division-licensed professions including the Board of Dental Health Care and the Optometry Board.

These callers claim to be from the FBI or DEA and mention investigations into licenses for illegal activity.

In one instance, the caller ID was “spoofed” and appeared to come from the Boards and Commissions Division’s main phone number: 505-476-4622. In another case, the call originated from outside of New Mexico.

REMINDER:

The Boards and Commissions Division will NEVER discuss investigatory or compliance matters over the phone. We will also never ask you to pay a fine or citation over the phone. All calls initiated by the Boards and Commissions Division will begin with a New Mexico area code.

If you receive a phone call regarding an investigation into your license, please hang up the phone call and promptly report it to the Division by dialing our main phone line: 505-476-4622.

We appreciate your attention to this matter.
