The New Mexico Private Investigations Advisory Board will hold a rule hearing on Friday November 14th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., immediately followed by a meeting of the board to consider any public comment and adoption of the proposed rule listed below. Public participation is welcomed, and comments may be submitted in writing during the public comment period, or in person during the public rule hearing. The hearing and subsequent meeting will take place at the Regulation and Licensing Department, Sandia Conference Room, located at 5500 San Antonio Drive NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109.

The purpose of the rule hearing is to consider five proposed rules aimed at providing clearer guidance on licensure requirements, fees, license renewal, continuing education, and disciplinary proceedings.

The Private Investigations Advisory Board will begin accepting written public comments regarding the proposed rule changes starting October 10, 2025. Written comments submitted prior to the rule hearing must be received by the Board no later than 8:00 a.m. on November 13, 2025.

Public comment will also be accepted during the rule hearing and may be presented orally, or in writing. Individuals who would like to participate and offer public comment must appear in person. The members of the Private Investigations Advisory Board will not engage in substantive discussion of public comments during the rule hearing but will consider all public comments during the board meeting following the conclusion of the rule hearing.
