New Mexico Signed Language Interpreting Practices Board will Convene a Regular Rule Hearing/Board Meeting on Tuesday January 6, 2026 to be held at 11:00AM in Albuquerque

The New Mexico Signed Language Interpreting Practices Board will hold a rule hearing on Tuesday January 6th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a meeting of the board to consider any public comment and adoption of the proposed rule listed below. Public participation is welcomed, and comments may be submitted in writing during the public comment period, or in person during the public rule hearing. The hearing and subsequent meeting will take place at the Regulation and Licensing Department, Sandia Conference Room, located at 5500 San Antonio Drive NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109.

The Signed Language Interpreting Practices Board will begin accepting written public comments regarding the proposed rule changes on December 5, 2025. If submitting written public comment prior to the rule hearing, the Signed Language Interpreting Practices Board will accept written public comments received by 8:00 a.m. on January 3, 2026. Written comments may be submitted by email to Signlanguage.board@rld.nm.gov or by postal mail to the following address:   New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department Attn: Board of Signed Language Interpreters P.O. Box 25101 Santa Fe, New Mexico 87504   Public comment will also be accepted during the rule hearing and may be presented orally, or in writing. Individuals who would like to participate and offer public comment must appear in person. The members of the Body Art Practitioners Board will not engage in substantive discussion of public comments during the rule hearing but will consider all public comments during the board meeting following the conclusion of the rule hearing. For inclement weather: If New Mexico state offices are placed on a two-hour delay due to inclement weather, the rule hearing will be pushed back two hours from the noticed hearing time. If New Mexico state offices are closed due to inclement weather, the rule hearing will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
