Real Estate Commission Instructor Resources
Real Estate Commission: Instructor Resources
A. Core Course Instructor Resources
1. NMREC Rule Book Resources
Instructors have appreciated over the years the special compilation of the NMREC Rules into one volume without having to go to the NM Center for Records and Archives. This quick reference puts all of the various Parts into context and gives Core Course instructors a volume that can be printed out as a handy resource to teach by.

NM REC IDW 2020
Per NM Real Estate License Law, as it pertains to instructor certification, all instructors are required to take a “commission approved training course” every three years. To fulfill this requirement, we are happy to offer the opportunity for approved instructors to take 3 hours of the below course options. CORE instructors will be required to take classes 3 and 4 as part of their certification. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AN iNSTRUCTOR TO TAKE AND RECEIVE CE CREDIT FOR THESE CLASSES. (Courses will be given 1 CEU TRAINING per course, but Instructors need to take three of the 4 offered courses for the IDW to count as part of the Instructor Renewal Requirement.)

NMREC IDW 2021 - SEPTEMBER 2021 SCHEDULE
Please keep in mind, per NM Real Estate License Law, as it pertains to instructor certification, that all instructors are required to take a “commission approved training course” every three years. To fulfill this requirement for approved instructors to take 3 hours, and CORE instructors required to take classes 3 and 4 as part of their certification, please verify one of the following –
- You intend to take the current IDW’s per this mailer (registration will verify this)
- You have already taken the IDW (please verify dates)
- You have received authorization for an alternative (please outline)
- You are no longer a NM instructor (please inform us)
If option 1, registration for the next courses is your intent, please review the attached PDF file for the appropriate steps to do so. Keep in mind that class sizes will be kept small, so it will be ‘first come – first serve’ as far as registration, and the next class dates will be released in a few months.
8. NMREC Course (Timed) Outlines
Not all course outlines from the Approved Course List (linked above) are posted here yet. Eventually, each of the approved permanent courses will be posted here. If there are any on the list for which you would like to see an outline, please contact me at Thomas.Baca@state.nm.us and I will expedite posting of that course outline. The revised course outline list contains the approved course number, the course category (training or education) and the number of hours CE credit for that course.
If you are an instructor interested in teaching one of the courses on the approved list, please contact the education
administrator at Thomas.Baca@state.nm.us or call (505) 222-9825. Selection of instructors and the courses they can teach is subject to the New Mexico Real Estate Commission's approval after review by the Education Advisory Committee. (See New Mexico Real Estate License Law and Real Estate Commission Rules, Part 15 Approval of Real Estate Courses, Sponsors, and Instructors, Paragraph 22.214.171.124 Approval of Instructors)
On DEMAND Courses
On our Approved Course List linked above are a number of offerings (Course numbers ending in 2) that were
proposed and approved for on-line delivery. Schools that offer these courses typically have received course specific
approval by the New Mexico Real Estate Commission. Parties interested in availing themselves of on-line courses
will need to check with Sponsors and/or Schools that offer on line delivery to see if they are approved to offer the on-
line course and their schedule for offering it.
