Body Art Practitioners Overview
The Board of Body Art Practitioners is responsible for promoting a safe and healthy environment for body artists and permanent cosmetic professionals as well as customers. The Board sets professional, training, and hygienic standards to ensure the public receives quality services.
The Board licenses and regulates the following license types: Tattoo Artists, Permanent Make-up Professionals, Body Piercing Professionals, Apprentice Sponsors, Apprentices, Guest Licenses, Establishment Licenses, and Special Event Permits.
The Board also investigates complaints from members of the public and takes appropriate disciplinary action if the required standards were determined to have been violated.
