Barbers and Cosmetologists Renew Your License
License Renewal Changes:
The Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists and the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department are implementing a new automated licensing system. This investment will simplify the licensing process, making it easier for applicants and licensees to apply for and renew licenses in New Mexico, eliminating paper forms, money orders, and cut down on staff time required to process, review, approve and renew licenses.
RENEWALS are expected to go-live with this new system before the end of 2021. Once in place, all licensees with the Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists will be required to renew using the new system.
To use the new licensing system you must have a current e-mail address on file with the Board. Without an email address, you may not use the system and your renewal may be delayed or withheld.
The Board will begin sending out emails during your renewal period with more information and how to licenses when the new system goes live. Additional updates will be shared through email, so please make sure that our office has your current email address.
Until the system goes live, you may continue to renew your license by logging into your current account (preferred method) or submitting payment by cashier’s check or money order (which will not be accepted once the new licensing system goes live).
